Always Sam, never Samantha. The youngest of four, she grew up under the iron fist of an 'old-fashioned' military archangel of a father. Until she hit her sixteenth birthday, she was generally on good terms with her old man. He still hated how she wanted to fight with her brothers and run wild instead of being a 'proper lady' like her mother. Her father was never keen on having a daughter; he wanted sons, archangels like him, sons that would join the army, fight for their country and do him proud.

Sam didn't want to be what was expected of her. She wanted to be like her brothers, she wanted to do just as well as they could, she wanted to make her father proud to have a daughter who was capable of anything her older brothers could do.

She became an archangel and left home soon afterwards. She signed up for the American army and ever since, has fought in several conflicts over the years. Her Calling got in the way at first, but she learned how to deal with it, how to find a balance. She'd do what ever she could, she brought medals home just like her brothers would. Her father never accepted her, though.

Sam's too damn stubborn to give up, though. She'll keep proving herself to him. As much as her father denies it, she's like him in a lot of ways: she's determined, head-strong, fierce. She knows what she wants out of her life.

And one day, she'll make him proud.
